Criteria for Haryana SSC Selection, Examination & Syllabus
Knowledge Exam 80% Weightage: All hopefuls should have a knowledge test with 80 marks, objective type and multiple choice questions. The knowledge test should be of the objective type each consisting of 100 multiple choice questions with a score of 0.80 and the test should be 90 minutes. Although 0.8 marks will be given for each correct answer there will be no negative marks for incorrect answers. It will be conducted simultaneously for all candidates. Except where the English language proficiency of the candidates is to be tested the medium of examination should be Hindi. The medium of examination should be bilingual, i.e. in Hindi and English.
The test paper shall include questions on General studies, General Science, Current affairs, General Reasoning, Mental Aptitude, Numerical ability, Agriculture, Animal husbandry, other relevant fields/trades etc. & must have at least 10 questions related to basic knowledge of computer. The standard of questionnaire of an educated person who has passed the 10 + 2 examination of the Haryana School Board of Education for the post of Constable is expected.
Physical Screening Test (PST)
Contenders who qualify in the Knowledge Test will be subjected to a qualifying PST only in nature to assess their physical fitness and endurance. The results of the physical screening examination will be prepared by the Haryana Personnel Selection Commission. Only applicants who meet the criteria recommended for the physical screening exam will be allowed to participate in the next process of the exam. All aspirants who have qualified the PMT shall be called for scrutiny of documents.
