Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) Written Exam Schema

Pharmacist-A & Lab Technician-A

The selection process consists of written test and skill test. The written test will be conducted first & shortlisted based on the written test scores and the required number of claimants the ratio between the number of vacancies and the number of hopefuls invited for the skill test. Applicants will be called for the skill test separately. The written exam will be conducted in such a way as to test the theoretical and practical knowledge of the entrant covering both the width and depth of the recommended syllabus. The skill test will be entirely on a ‘go-no-go’ basis and the marks obtained in the aptitude test will not be considered for the skill test. The skill test will be rated at 100 points with at least 60% qualification. Based on the marks obtained in the written exam a final selection will be made among the qualified applicants. Empowerment will be made in the order of marks obtained in the written exam from the contenders who qualify with 60% marks in the skill test. If there is a tie in the written marks the academic marks of the declared qualification will be tie-breaker.

Preliminary Medical Test (PMT)

The following medical tests shall be performed before Stage-1 Physical Efficiency Tests Height Measurement Weight Measurement Visible Structural abnormality

Stage-1 Physical Efficiency Test (PET)  for those who qualify in PMT

Male Candidates – To run 1500 metres in 7 minutes for Age upto 40 years ( 8 minutes for candidates for age above 40 years) Female Candidates – To run 800 metres in 4 minutes for Age upto 40 years ( 5 minutes for candidates for age above 40 years) Candidates who get qualified in the Stage-1 Physical Efficiency Test (PET) shall only be allowed to participate in the Detailed Medical Examination

Detailed Medical Examination (DME) for those who qualify in Stage-1 PET

Stage-2 PET  for those who qualify in DME

The written test  for those who qualify in Stage-2 PET

The final selection shall in the order of marks scored in the written test.

***Disqualification Condition

Knock knee, bow legs, flat foot, any physical deformity of spine or any limb, congenital or acquired, Night blindness, Colour blindness, Monocular vision, Implanted  pacemaker, Anaemia  (Haemoglobin<10 gm %), Random Blood Sugar >180 mg/dl, Hydrocele, Hernia, Thyrotoxicosis and pituitary disorders, Diabetes with micro vascular / macro vascular complications, Ischemic Heart Disease (IHD) and any other heart diseases etc.
