Examination Scheme 2022
- Claimants will be invited for the 2nd level examination based on the performance of the written examination following the reservation policy.
- However, the applicant must obtain a minimum score in the written test, which includes: “SC / ST / PWD-40 marks, OBC (NCL) -45 marks and UR / EWS – 50 marks”
- Contenders for the post of Field Attendant (Trainee) will be invited for the 2nd Level Examination i.e. Physical Aptitude Test in the ratio of 1: 3 based on the marks obtained in the written examination.
- Except Fieldworker (Trainer) candidates will be invited for the 2nd level examination in the ratio of 1: 3 to 1: 3 based on the marks obtained in the written examination.
- If two or more candidates have obtained equal marks in the written examination and the ratio has increased by 1: 3, all the candidates who have obtained equal marks in the above examination will be called for the 2nd level examination. Ratio
- Interviewees are required to obtain minimum qualifying marks in the written test as per Section 5.4 which is called for the 2nd level examination.
Written Examination pattern 2022
- The maximum marks for the written test will be 100 marks and the second level test (Physical Ability Test/Trade Test) will be of qualifying in nature
- The questionnaire booklet for written test will be in Hindi, English & Kannada
- The examination will be consists of objective type multiple choice questions.
- For answering the questions Optical Mark Reader/Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheet will be provided or any other mode as decided by NMDC Ltd
- The Written Test question paper for Field Attendant (Trainee) post shall consists of 02 subjects
- The part A will be carry 70 marks & Part B will carry 30 marks
- The Written Test question paper for the post of Maintenance Assistant (Mech) (Trainee), Maintenance Assistant (Elect) (Trainee), MCO Gr-III (Trainee), HEM Mechanic Gr-III (Trainee), Electrician Gr-III (Trainee), Blaster Gr-II (Trainee) and QCA Gr-III (Trainee) shall consists of 02 parts
- The part 01 will be involves with total 30 marks
- Part 02 will be involves with 70 marks with 02 sections (50 marks + 20 marks)
- The subject knowledge paper of Written Test will be on specific trade/ Job.
- However, the course knowledge sheet of the written examination for the post of Maintenance Assistant (Mech.) (Tr.) For Motor Mechanic and Diesel Mechanic will be the same for both trades.

Trade Test / 2nd Level Test pattern
- There will be a 2nd level test, i.e. trading selection for positions in the RS-02 & RS-04 levels, which qualifies by nature.
- There will be a Physical Ability Test for Field Attendant (Trainee) (RS-01) which will also be qualifying in nature.
- The qualifying marks in Trade Test/ 2nd Level Test (out of a total of 100 marks) will be as under
- 40% marks for UR/ EWS applicants 37% marks for OBC (NCL) applicants and 30% marks for SC/ ST/ PWD
- Those who appear for the 2nd level examination and fail to get the qualifying marks above that are ineligible to consider their candidature in the final qualifying list.
Procedure for 2nd Level Test (i.e., Trade Test/ Physical Ability Test:
- The Physical fitness test for the position of Fieldworker (Trainee) is mandatory and it is inherently eligible and its marks will not be included in the written test scores for the final examination.
- Expect Field Attendant (Trainee) the Trade Test will be conducted in the respective is mandatory.
- The Trade Test is qualifying in nature and its marks will not be included in the written trade in respect which Test marks for final selection. Final selection is on the basis of Written Test subject to qualifying in 2nd Level Test
- Eligibility list of candidates for Level 2 examination and final examination will be prepared by Trade/ Department wise on the basis of performance in the written examination.
