APSC Forest Ranger Written Examination pattern 2022
Standard: Bachelor’s Degree
The test will be conducted in an Objective Type Test format. The written test is worth 600 points and includes disciplines such as English (essays, precise writing, and so on), General Knowledge, and Optional Subjects I and II. The exam will take a total of 9 hours to complete. Written Examination: 600 Marks (4 Papers)
- English (Essay, Precis writing, etc.): 100 Marks
- General Knowledge: 100 Marks
- Optional Subject 1: 200 Marks
- Optional Subject 2: 200 Marks
Time Duration
- English (Essay, Precis writing, etc.): 3 Hours
- General Knowledge: 2 Hours
- Optional Subject 1: 2 Hours

Candidates have to choose any two of the following optional subjects (One paper each subject)
- Agriculture, Botany, Chemistry, Computer Applications/ Computer Science, Engineering (Agricultural/ Chemical/ Civil/ Computer/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Mechanical), Environmental Science, Forestry, Geology, Horticulture, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Veterinary Science, Zoology.
No candidate should be allowed to take more than one subject from the following groups
- Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering & Veterinary Science.
- Chemistry & Chemical Engineering.
- Computer Applications/ Computer Science & Computer Engineering.
- Electrical Engineering & Electronics Engineering.
- Mathematics & Statistics.
Assam Forest Ranger Syllabus 2022
English: Idioms and Phrases, Sentence Improvement, Synonyms, Sentence Arrangement, Substitution, Prepositions, Antonyms, Fill in the blanks, Passage Completion, etc.
General Knowledge: Awards, Authors, Flower, Defense, Culture, Religion, Languages, Capitals, Wars and Neighbors, Current Affairs, etc.
Forest Ranger Walking Test Details
Candidates who pass the written examination must then pass a walking test covering a distance of 25 km for male candidates and 16 km for female candidates in 4 (four) hours on foot, followed by a medical examination by the Medical Board, and those candidates found fit in the above will be required to produce a health certificate signed by the Medical Board in the form prescribed in Article 49 of the Civil Service Regulation of the Supplementary Rules.
Interview: 75 Marks
- Aspirants who are qualified in the walking test (after passing the written examination) and are medically fit will be invited to an interview.
