TN Government School Teachers Promotions: The Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby re-issue the following Special Rules for the Tamil Nadu Elementary Educational Subordinate Service. The rules hereby made shall come into force from the date of publication in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette. Based on the section, the promotions for Tamil Nadu School Teachers will vary. The section such as SECTION 37 – THE TAMIL NADU HIGHER SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE, SECTION 48 A – TAMIL NADU ELEMENTARY EDUCATIONAL SUBORDINATE SERVICE and SECTION 48 – THE TAMIL NADU SCHOOL EDUCATIONAL SUBORDINATE SERVICE.
The Tamil Nadu Government School Teachers Service shall consist of the following classes and categories, namely.
- Category I- Block Educational Officer and Headmaster / Headmistress of Middle Schools.
- Category II- Graduate Teacher (Tamil)/ Graduate Teacher (Other than Tamil)/ Graduate Teacher (Subjects).
- Category III- Headmaster / Headmistress of Primary Schools/ Secondary Grade Teacher.
- Category IV- Physical Education Teacher
- Category V- Pre-Vocational Instructor (Full time)
Tamil Nadu Government School Teachers Promotions
Block Educational Officer
- By direct recruitment through Teachers Recruitment Board.
- By promotion from category 2 of class I of the service.
Headmaster / Headmistress of Middle Schools
- By promotion from class II and category 1 of class III of the service in combined seniority.
- If no qualifi ed and suitable candidate is available for appointment by the method specifi ed in item (i) above, the vacancy shall be fi lled by direct recruitment.
Graduate Teacher (Tamil)
- By promotion from eligible person in category 1 of class III of the service. If no eligible person is available for promotion in category 1 of class III of the service, the vacancy shall be fi lled up by promotion from eligible person in category 2 of class III.
- By transfer of qualifi ed personnel from any other unit.
- If no qualifi ed and suitable candidate is available for appointment by any of the methods specifi ed in item (i) and (ii) above, then by direct recruitment.
Graduate Teacher (other than Tamil)
- By promotion from eligible person in category 1 of class III of the service. If no eligible person is available for promotion from category 1 of class III of the service, the vacancy shall be filled up by promotion from eligible person in category 2 of class III.
- By transfer of qualified personnel from any other unit.
- If no qualifi ed and suitable candidate is available for appointment by any of the methods specifi ed in item (i) and (ii) above, then by direct recruitment.
Graduate Teacher (Subjects)
- By promotion from eligible person in category 1 of class III of the service. If no eligible person is available for promotion from category 1 of class III of the service, the vacancy shall be filled by promotion from eligible person in category 2 of class III.
- By transfer of qualified personnel from any other unit.
- If no qualified and suitable candidate is available for appointment by any of the methods specified in item (i) and (ii) above, then by direct recruitment.
Headmaster/ Headmistress of Primary Schools
- By promotion from category 2 of class III.
Secondary Grade Teacher
- By direct recruitment
Physical Education Teacher/ Pre-Vocational Instructor
- By direct recruitment
TN Government Teachers Transfer and Postings
- Transfer and Postings of all classes in the service within the Revenue District shall be made by the Chief Educational Officer concerned.
- Inter-Revenue District Transfer and Posting of all officers in the service shall be made by the Joint Director concerned.
- Transfer and postings of all classes in the service within an Educational District shall be made by the District Educational Offi cer concerned.
- Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-rules (a) and (b), the Director of Elementary Education shall be competent to transfer any offi cer in the service within or outside Revenue District on administrative grounds.
