Uttar Pradesh PSC Regional Inspector Syllabus/ Pattern – Subject Wise
|
Paper-I
|
- A paper on Highway Code, the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988, Central Motor Vehicle rules, 1989 and Uttar Pradesh Motor Vehicle Rules, 1998
|

Paper-II
|
(A paper consisting of question of the following subject)
- Maintenance and upkeep of motor vehicles
- Principal factors relating to road safety
- Minor and major repairs of motor vehicle
- Mechanism and working of diesel, Petrol, gas and dual fuel engines
- Service check-up and model routine
- Vehicular Air and Noise pollution

UPPSC Regional Inspector Technical Practical Test
- A practical on motor vehicles is consist of total 100 Marks
|
(1) Driving test on heavy vehicle as per the provisions of Motor Vehicle Act. Driving Test – Expert committee should observe and evaluate the candidates for their compliance to

- Precautions method during driving
- Precautions method after driving

| (2) Dismantling and Assembling different components using proper tools and following proper safety procedures. |
For the dismantling and assembling of different components, a complete written record of each of the activities will be recorded by the candidate. The record will consist of-

UPPSC Regional Inspector (RI) 2021 Examination Details
The UPPSC RI exam consist of 02 papers namely paper I & II. The total marks are 100 & the duration of exam is 02 hours & 03 hours. The minimum performance standard recommended for S.C & S.T is set at 35%, meaning that applicants of these categories will not be included in the qualifying/ selected list if they get less than 35% marks in the written Examination. Hopefuls appearing for the essential qualification examination nominated for the post are not required to apply as they are ineligible. By the same token the minimum performance standard for other categories of contenders is set at 40%, i.e. if they get less than 40% marks in the written Examination they will not be included in the qualifying/ selected list. All such competitors who receive marks lower than the minimum performance standard set by the Mission will be considered ineligible. Contestants are required to obtain minimum marks in the written and practical examination individually as per the criteria prescribed by the Commission in this examination.
